As a Global Service spares planner, you will be a proactive data driven individual with the ability to juggle multiple activities. As a member of the Global Service and repair team you will be accountable for taking the lead on spare parts strategy planning and forecasting.
With a good technical foundation to understand the product portfolio with your experience of spares planning you will work closely with your key stakeholders (incl Service, FLS, Training, procurement, logistics, product management and commercial) to develop policies in which we can build out processes and operations on.
Your eye for detail will aid the forecasting process of spares, based on input from usage, reliability, PM, installed base and lifecycle planning. You will proactively take actions to ensure agree level of parts availability at global, regional, and local locations are kept within threshold and mitigating are developed and actioned swiftly to reduce any stock out risk.
In conjunction with the Service teams, you will also assist in knowledge creation and collaboration to develop global knowledge database up to date.
Be responsible for owning spare parts across a complex portfolio of products, including products with high levels technical complexity, a diverse set of external manufacturing sites and alternate customer channels, and/or a high degree of demand seasonality. To develop and publish relevant KPIs/reporting to measure spares stock optimization and availability Develop, Implement, and maintain overall spares policies to include:Field replaceable unit (FRU) policyNon-FRU stocking policyCritical parts identification P1 -P3 Availability targets Stocking levels and SSLs In conjunction with supporting functions (Commercial, Tech Service teams, Product management, procurement) review, evaluate and manage demand forecasting that will impact stock levels both positively and negatively to ensure availability targets stay within thresholds. Obsolescence Upgrades/ additional of new parts Usage patterns Sales funnel Annualized patterns of demand Reliability trends NPI Product end of life / end of support.Approved Planned maintenance policy per product. Balance inventory and supply planning while maintaining targeted customer service levels. Responsible re-balancing stock level of service location (prevent locations/teams from hoarding spare parts) Optimize process to expediate parts delivery (example. Drop-ship process from factory to region instead of factory to DC to country) Review spare parts DOA or premature failure (alert PS of parts failure trends) Ensure there are processes in place to control physical stock of spares and that accuracy to book stock is maintained. Lead special projects related to product launches, line extensions, and various supply chain initiatives. Develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to supply planning. Manage supply planning system and process improvements. Manage inventory of new and phase-out parts Validate and meet the monthly inventory days of supply and facilitate the reduction of excess inventory. Assist in setting and supporting strategic direction for supply chain initiatives. Manage inventory at a healthy level below plan target with optimum safety stocks and ensuring no stock outs. Success working in a matrix environment with a collaborative leadership style. Technical qualifications or proven experience in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering Understanding of end-to-end planning and supply chain management Experience in using and improving ERP/ CRM systems. Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once. Demonstrated ability to achieve KPIs like plan accuracy improvement, process adherence. Strong written and verbal communication skills Hands-on experience from handling, repairing, and implementing technical, medical/IVF equipment or experience of installing, servicing and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment is desirable, but not essential. An ability to work alone and unsupervised, whilst delivering strong results, as well as also being able to function strongly as a team player are essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English is essential, additional languages maybe of benefit). Resourcefulness – an ability to be a creative problem solver.
